Paul Caruana Galizia

Paul Caruana Galizia became a reporter after his mother, the pre-eminent Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, was assassinated. He has won numerous awards including New Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards and the Journalistic Accomplishment Award from the Junior Chamber International Malta. With his two brothers, Matthew and Andrew, he has won a Magnitsky Human Rights Award and an Anderson-Lucas-Norman Award for tax justice.

His podcast, My Mother’s Murder, won the Association of International Broadcasters’ award for Best Factual Podcast; Best News Coverage, bronze, at The Radio Academy ARIAs; and Best Documentary, silver, at The British Podcast Awards.

In 2018, he co-founded the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation with his brothers and father. The non-profit, independent non-governmental organisation supports efforts to protect investigative journalists, ending impunity for the murder of journalists and ensuring the public interest of full justice for Daphne’s assassination.
